Yes! There are two very important hormones that have to do with memory loss and general forgetfulness. The first one is thyroid. The thyroid gland runs the metabolism of the entire body. When it is low, the many functions of the body slow down, including your brain function. It can affect not only your ability to remember things in general, but also prevent you from being able to concentrate on things. Getting your thyroid checked completely can be one of the most important things you can do in getting your full brain function back. Thought processes become quicker, memory is sharper, and your mental “stick-to-it” ability is increased, not to mention your overall energy.

Remember that to have your thyroid check means more than having the typical “TSH” test done. That is the standard screening test for thyroid, which seldom if ever picks up on a low thyroid. It is critical to have the T4 and free T3 tests done. Without those two tests, you will never know for sure whether or not your thyroid is functioning properly, and you will spend the rest of your life with low thyroid function, which a poor quality of life...for a long time.

Memory loss can also be a function of too little estrogen in your body. Those of you women that experience hot flashes and night sweats on a continual basis will be the ones that want to take particular note of this fact. Studies have shown that hot flashes and night sweats can diminish the blood supply to the memory center of the brain, and thereby decrease brain function. Have you ever walked in to another room to get something and by the time you get there you have forgotten what you went to get? That’s called short-term memory deficit if it happens frequently.

At the Wellness Innovations our program encompasses a complete check of all your hormone levels, including estrogen and thyroid.

"I can't say enough about what I learned and experienced by going on the 'healthy hormones' as I call them. I really didn't know that hormonal imbalances could affect so many areas of my life. I don't even have the 'brain fog' anymore.

One of the biggest things that i have seen over the last few months is the overall increase in my energy levels. i had tried vitamins, herbs, exercise (which exhausted me!) yoga --you name it. little did I know that it was a simple matter of low hormone levels."
